Contents Summary
In today's Crimea, a peninsula on the northern coast of the Black Sea, some stay, but many go. Public concern is mixed, in some quarters people appear euphoric, but in others a sense of regret appears to govern emotion. However, one thing is concrete and inescapable, life has changed dramatically since Russia annexed Crimea. 'Back Home' asks how exactly it's changed? Simferopol-born Inna Denisova returns to her native city in search of answers. This documentary tells the story of one woman's return home to follow the lives of artists and friends in and among the vivid backdrop of a deeply divided society. In February 2013, the Russian military entered the Crimean peninsula and a new chapter in the Russian-Ukrainian relationship began. For many of those living in the Crimea, things would never be the same.
