Contents Summary
Marin is a gullible peasant from Olt, the county which is considered to contain people who are sometimes smart, sometimes simple-minded but always a sure source of laughter. Nea Marin is confused with the American millionaire Mr. Juvet. Juvet's daughter has been kidnapped and the "bad guys" are tracked down by another team of bad guys, who 're-kidnap' the girl from the first group of villains. In order to escape all these problems, Mr. Juvet comes to a neutral country - Romania - bringing his briefcase with money along. By chance, Nea Marin settles in the same hotel as the American, and he has a briefcase identical with Mr. Juvet's. The story focuses on mishaps about finding and losing Juvet's money, Nea Marin's leek, Juvet's daughter. Everything gets cleared up when Nea Marin's wife Veta, an archetypal woman from Olt, appears and saves the day.
