The series contains address and contact lists, resumes, correspondence, memos and reports.
The fundamental organizational records of IHF are gathered in this series, among them registration documents, statutes of the Federation and some of the National Helsinki Committees, statements of purpose, strategic plans and status reports.
There are extensive files created and maintained by and on various staff members. They relate to specific topics that these staff members (such as Deputy Directors or Legal Counsels) were responsible for, including cooperation with other human rights agencies and NGOs, or dealing with hate speech, refugees, minority groups or war crimes. The biographical files on the main leaders of the Federation and its General Secretariat, the Advisory Board and the National Committees offer background information on the people who shaped the development and activities of IHF and influenced the larger Helsinki Process.
Among other material of interest, the addresses and contact lists reveal the wide scope of IHF’s cooperation with global partners or agencies, and individual human rights activists in particular countries.
