Content and structure
Scope and content (abstract)
The series featuring a full set of the Radio Liberty weekly publication (January 1989 to December 1991) was designed to cover a weekly chronology of key events in the USSR with intent both to highlight information about events in the USSR and to represent the variety of research done at Radio Liberty. The publication is equally a source of up-to-date analysis of events in the USSR and a periodical for future reference. It features the work of Radio Liberty`s own researchers and frequent contributions from outside specialists. It is worth noting that the Radio Liberty Research Bulletin was its predecessor. The separate reports from 1991 included in the weekly publication are also part of the series. The series also contains an index to the reports and consists of two parts: an alphanumerical list of entries by subject and an alphanumerical list of entries by author. The entries in both parts identify materials by number, author, title, and date of publication. Some parts of the material carry numbers for 1989 and dates for 1988 because they were issued internally late in December of that year but appeared in the first issue (No.1) of the Report for 1989.
