Paper and Stone is based on the story of a secondary school in Salamaca, a rural area of Papa New Guinea. Having previously worked at the school, filmmaker Wendy Zakiewicz returns after two years to document the progress of two of her students, Tommy and Yangs. Focusing on the boys and their families, the film sets out to discover what benefits education can provide.
