In 2005, WITNESS (New York) has deposited a selection of 242 DVDs, approximately 200 hours of documentary and raw footage recordings at Blinken OSA Archives to be available for academic and research purposes within the institution. Witness uses video and online technologies to disclose human rights violations around the world (www.witness.org).

Scope and content (abstract)
WITNESS was founded in 1992 by musician and activist Peter Gabriel and the Reebok Human Rights Foundation as a project of the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights (now Human Rights First). WITNESS uses video and online technologies to disclose human rights violations around the world. This collection contains video recordings of WITNESS partners as well as 52 documentary films produced by WITNESS. The WITNESS Partners collection contains footage from various partners and partner organizations such as Jimmy Briggs, The Association for the Defense of Human Rights in Congo, Institute of Human Rights and Development in Africa, The Revolutionary Association of the Women in Afghanistan, Arab Association for Human Rights, and various others. The collection includes raw footage of refugee camps, mass graves, exhumation procedures, media briefings, interviews, etc. The WITNESS documentary collection consists of documentary, training and promotional films uncovering human rights violations and promoting worldwide protection of human rights.
