This sub-fonds is rather incomplete, and contains organizational and organizational history documents which provide an insight into the internal workings of TK/MKI, as well as into the activities of its director, Tamás Szecskő. These include documentation of: management and professional meetings, directives, organizational and operational regulations, divisions of tasks and job descriptions, minutes of internal professional debates, as well as the Institute’s network of contacts at home and abroad, and internal and external correspondence. When the Institute was closed, a significant portion of its documents ended up in the Hungarian National Archives, although their haphazard character means they cannot be used to reconstruct the TK/MKI’s administrative or organizational workings. The organizing principle for the two present series was to select only those documents that belong to a strictly-defined ‘managerial’ category, those relating to Tamás Szecskő’s activities at home and abroad, and his duties as the Institute’s director.

No documents were destroyed, the majority of documents are second copies.
