Scope and Content (Abstract)
The series contains a complete set of the RFE/RL weekly publication Report on Eastern Europe (January 1990 to December 1991), which covered weekly chronologies of key events in the region by single country and in a regional context, with occasional special issues on particular themes. The publication is both a source of up-to-date analysis of events and a periodical for future reference about the region experiencing accelerated and critical developments.
The series also includes the loose-leaf format research reports that were included in the weekly publication, i.e. reports by specific country on regional topics, and weekly records of events. Most of them are written by staff researchers at RFE/RL, with occasional commissioned contributions from outside specialists. It is worth noting that the Background and Situation reports were their predecessors.
Additionally, the series contains an index to the reports by number, author, title, and date of publication, organized under country or region as main categories with subjects as sub-categories.
