Contents/Summary
- Summary
- For over three decades, Sri Lanka was ravaged by civil war. Although the entire country felt the effects, the Northern Districts bore the brunt of it. Six years on from its conclusion, it is evident for some that the war has yet to come to an end. Many of the displacement camps set up during the conflict still remain and the people who inhabit those camps, especially the youth who harbour high hopes for the future, have been forgotten. This film separates the youth from the Northern districts into two categories: one being the youth that had no link to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE); and second the youth that were rehabilitated due to active involvement with the LTTE. The film looks at the past, the present and the future of the youth in the North with the purpose of identifying their needs and aspiration through the four characters, (Junistela, Juniton, Rakshana and Vinothan).
