Archival history
These files represent one of several attempts made by Samizdat Archives staff to process unpublished Samizdat documents. This attempt was undertaken during the period when new materials items were arriving by the dozen every day (beginning of the 90s). The files contain the new arrivals mixed with unpublished Samizdat documents that had been filed earlier and kept in folders with subject titles (many of these documents had been prepared for publication). I doubt that whether the creator had prepared any list of subject categories in advance any list of subject categories. Previously created folders stayed with their old titles, newly given subject titles were mostly improvised.

Notes
The original order of these files was the following: the folders were organized alphabetically, with the exception of two big classes - Natsional'nosti and Religiia - which were placed at the end. I believe that the creator of this series did not have in mindintend to make them into separate series. When starting working on the project the creator did not have in mind a clear idea about the content of the group. When these two classes became oversizedgrew too large, the creator decided towas to separate them physically, probably placing them into separate filing cabinet drawers of filing cabinet.
