The Open Society Archives (OSA) has been organizing historical exhibitions since its foundation in 1995. In preparation for the exhibitions, during the research phase, not only textual, paper-based documents, but film, photo and video material were collected by the research team. This archival series contains audio-visual material collected from various sources: institutions, archives and individuals, as well as news outlets, who provided reports covering OSA's exhibitions. Some of the footage and recordings made it into the exhibitions in the form of video installations, while the most of them was never used there. The accumulated material is a rich source of information for future researchers of the topics.
The research material in this series was accumulated and catalogued between 1995 and 2020.
In year 2021, OSA decided to discontinue with a collective series, and dedicate a separate archival series to each of the exhibitions organized by OSA between 1995 and 2020. To check the archival research material, relevant to the over 100 exhibitions organized by OSA, consult the records starting with those in HU OSA 206-2-2, and proceed sequentially. As of 2024 there the last exhibition's ID is 206-2-112.
