The items in this collection are of many genres, and were produced in various times. They include newsreels from 1957 till 1970; propaganda films from the 1960s; fiction films from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Many of them represent the revolution as counter-revolution.

Hungarian television programs about the 1956 revolution produced before and after the 1989, including portraits and in-depth analyses of the events, are valuable historical recordings for the research of 1956 Hungary.
