Scope and content (abstract)
From 1992 the RFE/RL Research Institute started a new weekly publication, the RFE/RL Research Report, to replace both the Report on the USSR and the Report on Eastern Europe. It continued to provide topical analyses of political, economic, security, and social developments in the area extending from the Baltic to the Balkans and from the Oder to the Pacific. The series consists of electronic files that contain the work-in-progress papers assigned to the different analysts as well as final issues prepared for publication. The files were created at the Research Institute (Munich) and after its closure they were taken to the Open Media Research Institute (Prague) to support the new organization's activity.
