Summary
This movie tells the life stories of two women from the Liberec region. One hails from a Catholic family of Czech Germans, the other from a Czech-German family of Jewish faith. The Second World War affected the lives of both, they had to change their homes as well as their citizenship. Isa Engelmann was born in India, grew up in Liberec, lives in Italy and considers herself European. Edita Weitzenová survived the war in exile in Britain. Before the Nazi occupation, she belonged to the Jewish community in Liberec of 1400 people. After 60 years, the two women meet and develop a strong friendship despite the initial distrust, prejudices and differences.
