Lajos M. was taken to the Russian front in 1942, and later was sentenced to 25 years of forced labor. Having spent 10 years in Novaia Zemlia, he was returned to Hungary and continued his term in the prison of Jászberény. While he was freed in 1956, real freedom was bought only by the regime change in 1990.
