Notes
The black and white prints of RFE/RL were donated to OSA by the Hoover Institute, California in year 2015. The images are duplicates of those held at Hoover. The originals, and most probably the negatives are with the donor as well. OSA only received the paper prints with captions, and digitized the entire collection in year 2018.

Contents Summary
ORIGINAL CAPTION: Radio Free Europe's policy in its daily broadcasts to Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Romania and Bulgaria is, in the word of the European Director "ultimately laid down by the Director himself." The implementation of this policy however, and its tailoring to the needs of the day-to-day developments behind the Iron Curtain takes place at a series of daily conferences with each of Radio Free Europe's five national desks, at which the European Director, the Policy Advisor and the exile Des Chiefs and editors consider together the happenings of the previous twenty-four hours. These meetings have been termed by one observer "a clear demonstration of the partnership between the Americans and the exile leaders." Seen here is Erik Hazelhoff, European Director presiding at one such conference.
