- Summary
- The film captures a family’s transition from the desert to the city, from Africa to Europe, from subsistence to modernity. Sidi is a Tuareg boy born in the Sahara desert of Nigeria. When he was four, he had to leave the nomadic life of the “blue men” of the desert, following his family in their migration to northern Italy. Sidi’s father was a guest worker in Italy. We follow him and his family in their modern Italian lives and visit Alkassoum, Sidi’s brother who has been left behind in their desert village in Niger. Because Sidi has a lot of questions about modernity and the fate of migrants, he borrows the camera to interview members of his family and Italians on the street and finds that he gets very honest answers.
